Eco Huts and DIY Pallet Furniture

We love to see how people are using pallets and all sorts of wood to be sustainable and eco-friendly. Check out how this company is promoting a sustainable and simple lifestyle.  We think we could easily get rid of 'the stuff' that we have collected (photo albums, old clothes, and too many dishes) and move to one of these simple homes.  Maybe then we'd start to meditate more?

For those of you with wee ones running around, packing up your stuff isn't on your to-do list since kids accrue so much darn gear.

Then check out this way to recycle a pallet for the wee ones to snack at:

We can picture them having their PB&J sandwiches at this little table (or for your crunchy mamas, an almond butter and honey sandwich), and all the jam they spill is easily cleaned up!

Now for the adults!  Can you whip this up in time for Father's Day?  Ok, maybe next Labor Day?  Either way, what a great way to organize your BBQ gear!

We love seeing how pallets are being up-cycled into cool furniture and decor.  What else have you done with the pallet?

Get creative with pallets

Sure, we here at Ruma's see pallets and think of warehouses, moving and storing freight, and tractor trailers hauling goods all across the US of A.  But we also love when we find out how you creative people are using those pallets to make your life a little easier....

So what do you think you will do with your next pallet? Are you moving freight? Or renovating this piece of wood to make your life easier?

Upcycling pallets

We used to think that wooden pallets were just for the construction-type-of guy; you know, that guy in your life with the tool belt who is always getting his hands dirty by ripping one thing apart or fixing the next thing with a hammer and nails.

Well.  We were wrong.  Sure, those pallet guys are our customers.

But we have seen what you all can do to take a pallet and

Who wouldn't want to to pick their potatoes and onions out of this?

and

Can't you see this artsy wall in your home?

And finally, we are just in love with this outdoor space  - of course, this is just for you over-achievers out there!

What have you done with your old pallets?

Pallets - the new trend!

Is it the Reduce, Reuse, REcycle phenomenon that has people using wooden pallets? Or is it the idea that wooden pallets are so versatile? Or so inexpensive? So rustic?! We don't have the answer, but looks like pallet-chic is the new shabby-chic.

Check out the displays here (at the furniture district at Helm's Bakery in Culver City, CA)

What have you done with your pallet, besides move freight!?
