Certain companies, stores, and clubs are required to use only Grade A Pallets. They are also referred to as #1 Pallets. Ruma Pallet World of New England supplies and sells Grade A Pallets to area companies in Massachusetts, Maine, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York, Vermont, and New Jersey. For safety reasons, Grade A Pallets or #1 Pallets are the best option for stores and clubs with stacks of product. A wholesale club like Costco or BJ's needs a sturdy, heavy duty pallet. Grade A pallets or #1 pallets are perfect for these clients, because the pallets are in direct contact with their customers. The other grade of pallet is called a Grade B Pallet also referred to as #2 Pallets. #2 pallets are for customers and clients that are not picky or fussy about the pallet grade. Most clients that purchase Grade B Pallets are storing their product away from the general public and are not required to use a Grade A pallet or #1 pallet.

Our #1 Pallets are standard 48 x 40 GMA pallets. All lead boards are 5" and the top and bottom are usually brand new. This GMA standard allows for a sturdy pallet for our clients that are looking to ensure safety for warehouse personnel and the general public.

Used Wooden Pallets

There are many types of pallets in the world, but the most common cost-effective pallet is the refurbished wooden pallet. Whether you are a large company ordering a full truck load of 588 pallets in a standard size of 48 x 40 or if you are a homeowner who needs 10 pallets for your basement, refurbished pallets are the way to go.

Refurbished pallets are used pallets that arrive at our pallet company with a few boards missing or they need nails replaced in order to comply with our pallet standards. We take pride in our refurbished pallets and we have a team of pallet repairers trained to recognize which pallets can be repaired and which ones cannot.

Pallet World has a steady stream of used pallets that enter our Massachusetts warehouse and we are a great source of refurbished pallets in the Metro Boston area.

The Surrogates movie is filming up a storm in Worcester, MA and in Hopedale, MA. Representatives from Surrogate Productions contacted Pallet World of New England for more pallets.

They need the wooden pallet products in a rush, and we were able to supply plywood pieces and we made specialty wooden bins for the movie set as well. Pallet World delivered to the film set in Hopedale, MA last week.

Pallet World is expanding its Everett, MA location and adding 4 new pallet employees and 1 salesperson. Business is booming in the pallet industry and Pallet World is expanding to meet the needs of our clients. Correction: Draper Building Post in Hopedale, MA

Thank you everyone for your recent posts about the history of the Draper Building. I would especially like to thank ILIVEINHOPEDALE for your link to the Draper family and all of the factoids of the Draper Building. This site shows pictures of the Draper Looms, marriage notices, letters from the Draper family, and a great article about hiring women and girls to work in the factory. It is amazing how much history Massachusetts has, and the Surrogates Movie is the only reason I was able to find out about the Draper Building. I hope the film construction and activity do not ruin any of the grounds. It is too bad that the glass company has not bought the building. I hate seeing these buildings go to disrepair and not being used. I visit Lowell often, and some of the their old mills are just destroyed. Fires have destroyed alot of the mills lately. Alot of the mills in Lowell have been converted into apartments and condos, which is nice. I of course love the Lowell Brewery, which is in a small mill. The brewery is currently being converted into a Lowell Beer Works. They open in June!

Bruce Willis Film - Pallets Delivered to the Set

Google searches for Bruce Willis filming in Hopedale, MAare tripling this week. It appears the film the Surrogates is filming up a storm in Worcester, MA and Hopedale, MA. The Surrogates movie is a sci-fi thrliller starring Bruce Willis and Ving Rhames and is about a future filled with humans that never leave their homes and robots that are suddenly murdered. Bruce Willis stars as a cop that must leave isolation and investigate the murders.

Filming has already begun in Hopedale, MA at the famed Draper Mill Cotton Plant. Draper Mill is a fantastic location to film at and at one time was the most productive cotton plant in the world. The Surrogate Production Company asked us to provide wooden pallets for this location. They requested that the pallets be used and in fairly bad condition. Perhaps this Bruce Willis movie will have an apocalyptic twist with old factories and mills showing what life used to be like before the Surrogates/robots came.

Today Pallet World of New England delivered 450 pallets to the film set starring Bruce Willis. According to our pallet driver, the old Draper Mill is huge and the property in Hopedale, MA is buzzing with activity. Next to the existing Draper Mill Buildings, a new building is being erected. We are not if it is for the movie set, or for future use of a glass company that has recently bought the Draper Mills property. Needless to say, Hopedale and Worcester residents must be having movie star sightings of Bruce Willis or Ving Rhames as Google searches for these stars has increased over the past week. We are very happy that Surrogate Productions chose Pallet World of New England to supply wooden pallets for their set. We hope that filming is going well, and if they need more used wooden pallets for their futuristic film set, Pallet World will be happy to supply more pallets at a moments notice.

Most pallet deliveries consist of a load of 294 pallets or a truckload of 588 pallets. Richmond Expo is a Pallet Success

Jim and Mark Ruma attended the East Coast Sawmill and Logging Expo in Richmond, VA on May 16 - May 18Th, 2008. This year's expo was sponsored by Virginia Forest Products Association and the Virginia Tech Extension Service. With over 250 exhibitors from the sawmill and pallet equipment industries inside and outside, Jim and Mark covered alot of ground. They particularly spent time looking at the Center Lift Stacker and the Infinity Stacker System by Industrial Resources. Jim and Mark were very impressed with the Infinity system and going over the dimensions and cost for implementation at Ruma Pallet World of New England. Automating our pallet operation has been our goal for some time now. Improving pallet production efficiency and researching new pallet equipment have been the main purpose of attending these trade shows. the hands on aspect of inspecting new and used pallet equipment is outstanding. Being able to discuss concerns and ask vendors questions face to face allows us to make more informed decisions when choosing new equipment for our pallet company.

The Stimulus Plan will benefit Pallet World with the new pallet equipment that we will be purchasing. In addition to allowing stimulus checks ranging from $300 - $1200 per individual and couples, President Bush's stimulus plan allows key tax breaks for business that are planning to buy new equipment. With 50 % bonus depreciation on services rendered in 2008, Pallet World can also write off new and used equipment purchases in 2008. These write offs have doubled from $128,000 to $250,000. If we decide to purchase this new pallet equipment for our wooden pallet recycling business, we will be able to take advantage of these stimulus initiatives.

The best benefit in choosing a Grade B pallet or a #2 Pallet is the cost. A company can reduce overhead considerably by choosing to stack product and ship product on a Grade B pallet or a #2 pallet. Some customers are not required to use a Grade A pallet, and therefore are not fussy about needing a stronger pallet. Grade B Pallets are perfect for smaller companies that have been hit hard by the rising fuel prices and they can save anywhere for $0.25 to $2 per pallet. For a full truckload of 588 pallets in a 53' trailer that money adds up very quickly. Grade B pallets and #2 pallets are just as viable as their Grade A Pallet counterparts, but they tend to have been refurbished with recycled wood rather than new wood used for broken pallet boards. Certain companies, stores, and clubs are required to use only Grade A Pallets. They are also referred to as #1 Pallets. Ruma Pallet World of New England supplies and sells Grade A Pallets to area companies in Massachusetts, Maine, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York, Vermont, and New Jersey. For safety reasons, Grade A Pallets or #1 Pallets are the best option for stores and clubs with stacks of product. A wholesale club like Costco or BJ's needs a sturdy, heavy duty pallet. Grade A pallets or #1 pallets are perfect for these clients, because the pallets are in direct contact with their customers. The other grade of pallet is called a Grade B Pallet also referred to as #2 Pallets. #2 pallets are for customers and clients that are not picky or fussy about the pallet grade. Most clients that purchase Grade B Pallets are storing their product away from the general public and are not required to use a Grade A pallet or #1 pallet.

Our #1 Pallets are standard 48 x 40 GMA pallets. All lead boards are 5" and the top and bottom are usually brand new. This GMA standard allows for a sturdy pallet for our clients that are looking to ensure safety for warehouse personnel and the general public.

We Recycle Wooden Pallets

Pallet World offers company pallet clean outs of your warehouse and property. Pallet World will remove all pallets from your warehouse, and haul them away. We provide this service for a minimal pallet charge. Our pallet trailers will be dropped off at your location and we wait for you to fill the trailer with your unwanted pallets. When the pallet trailer is full, give us a call at 617-389-8090 and we will arrange to pick up the full pallet trailer and provide you with a new empty one. Some companies may fill up these pallet trailers rather quickly, and may need pallet trailer exchanges every few days or every week.

Once we haul your unwanted pallets, we recycle the wood and refurbish the pallets that can be used again. We re-use the wood from the pallet clean outs to rebuild pallets or to make new ones. for those unwanted pallets and boards that cannot be re-used, we set them aside for firewood. We offer free firewood as a courtesy to our area residents. We want to keep our our trash output down and make sure that we find proper uses for every pallet material that enters our warehouse.

Chep Pallets are also referred to as Blue Pallets. A Chep Pallet can be used over and over again and you may get several years use out of a Chep Pallet. A regular pallet may receive only 1 - 3 uses, but with a chep pallet you receive much more.

Everyday, I have tried to blog about different types of pallets. Today I will be blogging about Heat Treated Pallets. Ruma's Pallet World can heat treat any size pallet. The heat treating pallet process is common at Pallet World as we have many clients that use heat treated pallets. If a client is exporting products on pallets, all of the pallets going outside of the United States must comply with exporting standards. This includes but is not limited to heat treating the pallets that their product is shipped on. One of the great benefits of heat treated pallets is that they tend to be insect free. Plastic Pallets

Yesterday we stressed the benefits of wooden pallets versus new pallets. Today, I want to talk to you about plastic pallets. Ruma's Pallet World of New England is a plastic pallet depot as well as a plastic pallet recycler. Plastic pallets tend to be used more in Europe than in the US and the rest of the world. (According to Wikipedia) Plastic Pallets have some great benefits that could be of use to some manufacturers. Plastic Pallets are easier to clean and sanitize, they tend not to carry odors, and they are weigh less than the traditional wooden pallet or skid. We have several customers that enjoy using our plastic pallets. Our plastic skids save on transportation costs, which allows our pallet customers to ship plastic pallets as freight to any location within the United States and Canada.

Refurbished Pallets

There are many types of pallets in the world, but the most common cost-effective pallet is the refurbished wooden pallet. Whether you are a large company ordering a full truck load of 588 pallets in a standard size of 48 x 40 or if you are a homeowner who needs 10 pallets for your basement, refurbished pallets are the way to go.

Refurbished pallets are used pallets that arrive at our pallet company with a few boards missing or they need nails replaced in order to comply with our pallet standards. We take pride in our refurbished pallets and we have a team of pallet repairers trained to recognize which pallets can be repaired and which ones cannot.
